Bausch & Lomb voluntarily recalled PreserVision eye vitamin AREDS 2 formula with omega 3 softgels. The recall was due to a small number of reports, mainly by people 70 years of age and older, who reported difficulty swallowing or a choking sensation when taking the softgel. Bausch & Lomb plans to redesign and release a smaller, softer formulation later this year. This recall only pertains to PreserVision eye vitamin AREDS 2 formula, all other PreserVision products remain on the market.
